The brand-new Pump Track at Horam Village Hall & Recreation Ground has officially opened and is already being enjoyed by local residents and visitors alike.
This exciting community project was led by Mike Woodhouse and the Horam Village Hall trustees, with valued support from Pro-Eco Ltd and Hailsham Active, who also previously contributed to the successful installation of the new footpath around the recreation ground.
A special thank you goes to Annette Buswell of StepUp Sports Ltd, Hailsham Active Director and grants specialist, who has helped secure an impressive £250,000 in grant funding for improvements to the recreation ground. This includes £50,000 from the Veolia Environmental Trust to bring the pump track project to life.
Additional thanks to Pro-Eco Ltd, who provided £5,000 of match funding, enabling the Veolia grant to be released and the project to move forward.
The new pump track is a fantastic addition to Horam’s community facilities, providing a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable space for riders, families, and young people to stay active and make the most of the outdoors.
The pump track is now open and ready to ride — offering a lasting benefit to the community for years to come.
